#1 new voltage regulator
I ordered a replacement voltage regulator for my 1966 series one coupe. when it arrived & I went to install it, I found that it did not fit. The mounting holes were approxamitly 1/8 inch different from the 4TR unit I was replacing. The black plastic cover is also different in that the mounting holes are counterbore molded so the original hex head screws need to be replaced with a round head to fit down into the hole (no big deal) So now I must re-tap the holes in the mounting plate. I would guess the new unit is a Chinese re-pop. Has any one else had this problem?

I think if you drill out the rivets holding the cover on then you can fit your new internals into your old cover....Steve
