Gosh, David. The new server and format for the forum are just wonderful. I freely admit that I'm a bit of a Luddite when it comes to computer stuff, but even I was able to change the background (Latte is my preference for now) and upload an avatar with no trouble at all. Thank you so much for your Herculean efforts to get this up and running and for everything you have done over the past eight years as Administrator and advice-giving poster. I really appreciate your efforts. Maybe Pete can Shanghai you to help out with J-L.
(Couldn't find the wink Smiley.)

Hi All......wasnt sure how ot make a photo smaller to fit as an avatar....so just copied a photo into the edit avater section of edit profil and then two boxes appear that lets you set the size to 200x200.....so quite easy....you dont have to resize your photo first..... Steve

I'm trying to upload a photo and I'm not getting this - it just says it is too many pixels high, but no suggestions how to remedy this. If I crop the photo I get de-capitated (which might be an improvement actually).

Use Paint if you are using Win 10. Simply type 'Paint' into the Windows search bar at the bottom left, open it, load the photo (typically you can drag 'n drop) and then click on resize > pixels > 200 x 200 > save. You can then upload to the Forum.

Well, I managed to find my way through that - thank you - but it's TINY and I can't seem to make it bigger. Maybe I'm using a pic that has a lot of pixels or kilobytes to start with?

You shrunk it to 32x49 pixels rather than 200x200. After you have resized it right mouse click on the png or jpg file and select Properties > Details which will tell you what size you have. Keep trying you will get there eventually!

Thank you - it actually said it was 199 by something. That's weird. I'll have another go - you are certainly expanding my horizons with computers here ;)

Well that worked - although I'm sure it was the same pic I used last time! Thank you for taking the time to talk me through it.

Hi. Been trying to upload a jpg picture to the avatar or signature, but even though it is definitely less than 200x100 pixels and 24kb, I keep getting the message that my photo is 4130x3000 something pixels. Have tried another photo as well, but get the same

The photo was below the size limit but somehow the properties were saved as the original large photo. I have changed the properties of the image and added it as your avatar.

Geoff could have been because the 2+2 is a bigger car.

Ah yes - that explains it
Thanks David. Strange that my computer still shows the properties of my version as 24kb though!!!
