Societal lockdown has meant that as an anaesthetist I have been very much underemployed in Australia.

So I bought myself Assetto Corsa and a Thrustmaster set comprising of wheel, shifter and pedals and have been merrily driving classic cars around some of the world's greatest tracks.

Yesterday I managed a 3:11 around Bathurst in a LWE, pulling a tad over 7000 rpm down Conrod Straight for about 220kph. It felt fast until I watched the replay. Which looked like Grandma driving to church.

Probably the most fun of all is driving with a friend, using the inbuilt AC server, and Discord comms program so we can talk to each other.

Last night we'd both had a couple of wines and the session rapidly deteriorated into bad behaviour. We both laughed so much that Daryl had an asthma attack and had to pit while he found his Ventolin puffer.

My next plan is Goodwood in an A30.
