#1 Trim rear hing & lock covers

Post by mgcjag » Sat Jan 21, 2017 12:15 pm

Hi All.....Having retrimed the interior of my 2+2 i wanted to find a way to trim the rear hatch hinge and lock covers......the original covering is very thin vinyl moulded to the curved shapes.....no way was i going to be able to re mould to these shapes the cotton backed vinyl would just not stretch enough even when heated up.......you can get covers made at the trimmers that are stiched to sbape......borrowed a sewing machine and ok sewing in a straight line but doing tbe curves was beyond me.......The only option left was to cover in pieces....and useing piping form a distinctive edge to hide the cuts in the vinyl
