I've just finished replacing all my PB'd duds using the Postimage link. It was a bore but not at all difficult. Huge thanks to David for embarking on the rescue of all the priceless Factory fit etc pictures. I/we would be so stuffed without them. To say nothing of the Period/glamour section.....

Probably caused by so many people trying to get their photos back before the whole company implodes. Their user interface was always slow but it is now glacial. I will see if I can download your album for you although at the moment all I get is a spinning circle!

Update: Got as far as your album but it is marked as Private so I can't download it. I have one of their 20Gb Plans ($25 per year) because I was exceeding their bandwidth limits years ago because of the number of photos posted here. It seems they regard me a "paying customer of good standing" so I have an hotlinking extension until December 2018 which is just as well. It has taken me a week to copy and paste all the 874 photos from the 3.8 Factory Fit thread across to Imgur. I dread to think how long it is going to take to do Collectors Corner!

David, save your time.

Just had this back from their tech support:
"Hello there!
I am very sorry for the inconvenience that this has caused you. This is a known issue affecting several users and our engineering team is troubleshooting the problem. We will get this resolved as soon as we can!
Sorry, but for the time being you will need to download images individually.
Thank you for your patience and again, I am terribly sorry for this inconvenience!"

Download individually ? now they are taking the P**S !! :policeblue: :scratchheadyellow:

As corporate disasters go, this looks likely to rank as one of the most spectacular, and certainly one of the speediest . The outfit may have been struggling financially in recent times, but it was surviving. Now its life expectancy looks to be measured in weeks. Incidentally, my account disappeared even though, following David's advice on the matter , I cancelled my deletion of it

Hi All,

I have noticed that pretty much everyone who now posts images using PostImg, results in just a hyperlink called 'Image' appearing, and when I click on it, it takes me to the PostImg site but still does not show the image, just a large empty box where, presumeably, the image should be displayed.

Is anyone else getting this?

No, working fine as far as I can see.

Image

If you see a small icon rather than a photo the upload has failed. Delete your link and upload it again and it should work. I have seen the 'image' box a few times but it usually works after a second attempt.

Didnt see this mentioned before so thought I'd share.

Like many others the Download Album 'feature' of PhotoBucket would always fail for me. I found a Chrome Extension called Photobucket Album Downloader (Unlimit) which costs $2US. I used it to recover all of my images in a few minutes. After the first album I can tell you $2 is a bargain for me today.

It does not d/l videos. And given that the PB UI is horrible, knowing if a video was on page 20 of the album can be a pain. What I did was watch the image count as PADU downloaded the images. If that matched the count PB showed, then I didnt have any videos in that album. Otherwise I had to page thru to search for them. Side note, if you right click on the video and "open in new tab", then you can d/l the video without causing PB to start showering you with ads in your album tab.

Note that if you have a long album name, PB won't show the image count (gotta save room for all those ads!) so you might want to shorten your album names. Don't know how to do that.

Also, your album has to be public to download it with PADU.

No affiliation. YMMV. It could be a trick by Putin trojan horse trainers. Etc. But its the best $2 I've spent this year.

Hi all,

I've spent a while today trying to transfer all my links from PB to photo image. I think I've done all the main ones but if anyone finds any links broken in my lists and would like them restored please drop me a note........

Someone asked me the other day about the handbrake mod, it appears the photos have gone so I did a search on google and the write up along with photos from the old site came up. I managed to copy the write up and photos to my laptop OK.

Bit by bit they're coming to their senses.

For 50$ I'd buy into their plan, as long as I was sure that once I was dependant on it they wouldn't jack it up again.

Two ways:

1. Get an IMGUR account (free) and host the photos there. You then copy the BBcode link into your posts and the photos should appear.

2. Use the inbuilt Forum Postimage link which appears as a blue 'P' icon below the editor box. Click on the 'Add image to post' link, choose a size (e.g. 1280x1040), browse to the photo you want on your PC and click upload. The software will grab the image and automatically put a link in your post. Avoid the "Do not resize my image" option otherwise the thing will not work as intended.

The second method is probably best for ad hoc photos but if you intend posting a lot of them use IMGUR.

Having managed to piss-off a couple of million customers, by subjecting them to a racket that has rendered most of the photographic archive and links on this Forum unusable, PhotoBucket have begun to see the light by UNLOCKING all the links that were frozen, and offering a subscription at $20 a year for the kind of usage that most of us need.

All of your hosted images across the internet have been restored for a limited time under your Free Account.

We are also offering a new, competitive subscription package that includes:

Continued use of 3rd Party Image Hosting services
10GB of Storage
No Advertisements

All of this for just $1.99 per month or an option of $19.99 per year.

Hurry, last day for this offer! Prices increase to $2.49 per month or $26.99 per year on May 22nd, 2018!

Cautiously I would judge this to be good news ?

Saves me having to re-constitute a new archive for lengthy posts like this

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=6023&p=42610&hilit=LEG#p42610

and I for one will be signing up today.

Good spot Rory! I was paying $29.99 p.a. because of the bandwidth the Forum was using. I can now get the same for $19.99 p.a. No idea what the Muppet who runs PB was thinking about last year.

They claim to be "under new management" and acknowledge previous errors .........

But so far they're up to their old ways - the deal that was $20 p.a. and that was available only today can't actually be accessed, the site or link is dead, whether you pay by VISA or PayPal.

How much do you bet that when it goes up to $25 tomorrow the links will start to work.

Clever cess-pit geekery, probably conjured up whilst they were popping their spots in the mirror.
