#1 Tracking an Engine Number

Post by rfs1957 » Tue Aug 08, 2017 11:18 am

My car doesn't have its original engine ; its got the right sort, from the correct period, and it's got matching block/head numbers, BUT it's not the right one, and I'm curious to know if it ended up in another car.

I wondered if anyone had ever used XKEDATA to look where an engine might have ended up ?

I can see how to look for chassis numbers of course, but not for an engine number ............

Click " BROWSE " and then enter the engine number, it has to be exact so try with and without the -9 suffix.

Thanks for that, yes, indeed putting the complete engine number in throws up "no match" but by using the %% extension I have found the very next engine to mine at least.
