And, of course:

Borrani Wire Wheels - the 5kg weight saving per corner, makes a noticeable difference on the road

I doubt if you could ever hear it in an E-type, but it does look well.

NGK BP5E spark plugs (did have Iridium tip in there at one time) with Moroso Blue Max spiral wound leads: http://tinyurl.com/lrwstk and you can buy here: http://www.rob-beere-racing.co.uk/ignition.html#ignlead
The C-Type lead separator comes as a bonus - keeping the leads apart rather than bundled is particularly important with electronic ignition systems, and it looks good!

Not wanting to add to your growing parts list Clive but ignition leads and plug caps should be changed after 10 years. Whilst the Champion 'bow-tie' plug caps look good the available new stock is not very reliable and prone to causing misfires, again, especially with electronic ignition.

My mistake. Yesterday I mentioned that Ray Livingston's adaptation of an aftermarket alloy radiator was detailed on the JCNA site. It's actually on www.xkelovers.com. Apologies for the confusion.

So spark plug wise the NGK BP5E are to be used and not the Champion UN12Y... :!:

Plus the Blue Max HT leads...

Are these ok to use :?: as my car doesnt have electronic ignition or an upgraded coil "YET"

Or can you only upgrade plugs and leads when you do the ignition upgrade :?:

Nah - plug leads are plug leads at the end of the day so the Moroso ones will work perfectly with conventional ignition and even better with electronic ignition where, typically, HT voltage is higher and 'cleaner'. You need a cable that is as immune as possible from electrical interference, transmits little electrical noise and ideally separated from its neighbour.

Choice of plugs is like choice of petrol. Go with whatever make you like or indeed fitted to your car if it has done very few miles, as long as they are clean and adjusted.

As regards coils I am currently using a Lucas Sport although I have had good results with Bosch Blue.

Also remembered I installed a lightweight battery:

Half the weight of the standard one, twice the cranking power but unfortunately twice the price. Having said that it is now 10 years old and shows no sign of failing. I stuck the Lucas badge on to annoy the concours crowd!

How do the battery clamps fix? 10 years is impressive; do you run a trickle charger in the winter?

Forgot how the clamps fit (it was 10 years ago!; but will check) although I do use a CTek XS7000 battery charger over winter. http://www.ctek-chargers.co.uk/
Best I have found as it charges and conditions the battery. Delighted with the SBS battery though as many lead/acid types only last three years (e.g. my Alpina and Porsche).

Clive

I don't think Angus has that particular coil, just me spoofing (at least I hope so!). I guess he has this one:

Good coil, leads and ignition system actually.

The "beast above" is aimed at the rice rocket brigade. No room to fit it sensibly on an E-Type. The silver one is a direct replacement for the Lucas original and co-ordinates with the Petronix electronic ignition.
