#1 Cylinder head paint

Post by NickJ » Fri Nov 10, 2017 4:30 pm

Keen to reinstate the pumpkin coloured cylinder head paint on my Series 1 as the rebuilt engine came back in gold. Have just seen the price of a tin of the said pumpkin paint and nearly died- it's £100! Does anyone know of a suitable source/compromise that is affordable for mere mortals - otherwise gold it stays!

Steve
Thanks,on that but had already studied previous entries and found nothing conclusive. Was at the NEC classic car show yesterday and found one guy selling so called pumpkin yellow, but it looked more like kermit green so declined.
Advice to anyone going next year - go alone you'll see so much more and you can dodge the slobs who drift along and stop suddenly. You can spend more time getting reunited than looking at the exhibitors. Lovely to see that the 11th Hour was respected and all 3 halls stood in silence.
Advice for next year to anyone. Go to station car park - you get in quicker and the parking is cheaper. Otherwise it's OK. Looked at the Challenger stand and have to say that it was quite difficult spotting the differences. On the open road more than difficult I would say
