#1 Snowfall issue?
I've noticed the last few days when I open etypeuk.com that my Mac notebook gets very hot after a few minutes. I've tried various experiments to isolate the cause, and it appears it's the website itself causing the issue (which has never occurred before, btw). My activity monitor show the site is consuming 90-99% of my CPU time, even when just "idling" while reading a post. My conjecture is it's the snowfall animation causing the issue.
Anyone else seeing this?

As in real life, snowfall will end when winter‘s over, so just wait :-)

Yes, the snowfall does appear to consume a lot of processing power. Anyway we have now moved on to "smashing the fairy lights" and the snowfall no longer hogs the CPU.

Yes, this is a different extension whose snowfall does not consume power.

Nothing to do with us Paul. We have upgraded the phpBB software to the latest version ans apart from the Xmas snow fall issue (now resolved) you should have no problems. Try opening the Windows resource monitor whilst viewing the Forum and a few others and make a note of the resource % and see what you find.

Hi David,
I have done as you suggested and my computer sits on 100% on most pages after a slight fluctuation and only changes briefly when I change pages and then back to 100%.
It sits at 100% mostly after I have changed to a different heading in the board index (Series One; Technical etc.).
It only does it on this site; on Jag-lovers for example the page loads at 100%, but very quickly falls to around 30%.
On the plus side it is faster than it was yesterday :-)

Smashing the fairy lights is fun. Can we have Unwrapping the Easter Eggs next?
(At Easter, not like the supermarkets that have started selling Easter eggs and hot cross buns already )

That is odd Paul. My PC with an Intel i5 processor is showing 4% when viewing the Forum pages, same as on J-L. I will disable the fairy lights and let me know if the % drops.

Thanks David,
It seems to be working fine now.
Perhaps its my old Athlon duel core, not able to keep up with modern technology.
Bit like me really :-(
