Are the prices of e-types beginning to come down? I remember seeing this FHC for sale a while back for £80k and now it's £35k... eBay e-type

Seems objective and reliable sources suggest not.

Good indices to use, as they address different types of sources, are Hagerty and Hemmings.

Hemmings simply takes ads last 3 years for the model you enter, and gives average, high and low. Hagerty takes average prices for various conditions, making use of private sales, auctions and ads. Hemmings gives much higher values than Hagerty.

It's clear prices went nuts between 2010 and 2015, flattened out over 2016 and dipped slightly in 2017 before flattening again. It seems they are slowly rising again.

I look specifically for 1963 FHC values. May 2017 showed $10,000 average increase over Feb 2017 in Hemmings, and Feb 2018 showed $10,000 average increase over May 2017 in Hemmings. In Hagerty, all values in Feb 2018 were higher than for the same conditions in May 2017, and average from Sep 2017 to Jan 2018 went from $64,900 to $68,100.

I assume most models show relatively similar trends.

Having watched this particular sellers offerings for a few months I came to the conclusion that we were living on different planets. His prices were crazy bonkers.

I wouldn't take too much notice of what this particular seller advertises. He is not far from me and he is well known in the local area for possibly several reasons. 😉 say no more.
