The first time I was on this site I came across a section with pdfs for maintenance. I need to see how the cam covers comes off for starters. I have a huge oil leak around both cam covers and it was recommended that I retourque the head.
If someone could point out the path to these PDFs I would appreciate it.

Elliott, look in the knowledge section. However, as is emphasised there, everyone should buy their own copy of the Jaguar Manuals, all available to buy online, and the pdf versions are there to print out a page or two for ready reference.

Just as an aside, torquing the head will have no effect whatsoever on leaks from the cam covers . The cam covers are simplicity itself to remove : undo the 11 small domed nuts and the copper washers underneath , and lift the cover off, ensuring that you separate the gasket either from the cover or from the head surface so that you don't break it . If you have leaks already, it will be best to have new gaskets available

Geoff,
I am aware of the state of manuals like these. I had about 3 I used for the TR6 and when in unfamiliar territory I would consult all I had. Each had a different perspective.
And I Jaguar mechanic that was helping at the club tech session suggested a head retouque since the car has not been driven much for a number of years.
Thanks
Elliott

If he was recommending retorqueing after layup that’s one thing (though I’m not sure how it is supposed to help).
If he recommends it as a fix for cam cover leakage, Chris is correct - it’ll have no effect
If the leak comes from the head, don’t forget (or strip) the front four 1/2” AF nuts under the head at the sides and two more at the front below the breather cover.
