I have a 1969 Series 2 E-Type Roadster and am finding the boot lid keeps springing open while driving.
I have checked the cable adjustment and the catch seems to be closing correctly.
Any ideas

Not uncommon. You need to adjust the latch position (the part on the boot lid) and you may have to use shims to get it right.

I had the same problem. As David stated, you will need to adjust the latching mechanism. In order to do that, you have to see just what the alignment problem is. Hop into the boot with a torch and have someone close the lid so that you can see what's out of whack. Or, you can set a digital camera in the boot with it pointed at the latch. Set its timer, close the lid and wait for the camera to take the photo and then take a look at the misalignment. I don't know how else one could make that adjustment without a lot of fiddling and test driving. Back in the day, it must have been a slow process for Jaguar to take the photo, send the film off to the processors, wait for the photo's return, make the adjustment, go for a test drive, repeat until the alignment is correct.

Nope. Back in the day all Brits were the size of Norman Dewis. We could quite happily sit in the boot, lid shut, candle lit, looking for latches being out of whack.

I found out that I need to push the release handle in after opening mine, or it doesn't latch securely. Popped open while driving, like an air brake.
