Over £18k for a bonnet... really? That's more than I paid for the whole car!

Friend of ours had an accident in his series 1 and had to buy a new bonnet. Got it for circa £7k - new, not 2nd hand

I only fit in a 2+2, so got one!

I bought my car, Retail, for £19,950 in 2003. It was probably really worth less than £15k, but it came with a ‘no quibble’ guarantee. (I quibbled. A lot.)

I noted the price of a bonnet from Martin Robey in the early naughties was £2750, ( I think I saw one in the NEC classic car show one November.) When I replaced mine in 2007, I sold the original, complete with two sets of photographed repairs over a 40 year period, for a grand. Can’t believe inflation has been 1800 % over 13 years. Inflation has not been 1800% over 14 years. Someone is making a lot of profit. Someone else has more money than sense.

Then look at A-frames from E-type Fabs. I bought mine in 2014 for £2,000 I think they are more than double that now.
