Absolutely, with Bill Heynes at his side. The Big Boss and the Engineering Boss who could see the competition snapping at their heels. They were doubtless already thinking how to ride the wave and use their production-based components to stay on top with what became the D-Type.

At the wheel change, the knock-off spinners are taking some real beating.

The humorous back story to Le Mans 53 was when Hamilton and Rolt were disqualified during practice , so they went to the pub for an all night drinking session , hungover they were rounded up on race morning by Sir William who had bailed them out ! .
One of my prized possessions is "Jaguar at white house corner" .
