Hi all
About to fit the headlining to my 65 FHC, so i looked at ihe posts about this .for any tips about fitting.To my surprise ,a foam backing is being used. I am sure when I removed mine many years ago it was stuck straight onto the roof.So what did Jaguar do.
Any thoughts
Thank you in advance
Clive

AFAIK, there always was a foam back to the headlining, which is what gave it "body" and a bit of give. It is really one of those jobs which is better left to the professionals unless you have had experience yourself, and if you are going to do it yourself it is essential to have a well-briefed helper at hand

If it can help you, that's what i have done ;

i have glued the middle of the roof with a line on the roof to be sure to follow the direction front// rear

Keep the edges without glue and use a round stick to push the edges in the recess

Keep a high temp to be sure of a good adhesive process (neoprene)
