#1 Lost parts in restoration
Hi all , so who's lost what while restoring their car ??? My biggest at the moment on my finished (it's never finished) lightweight coupe is my Ali bonnet to cockpit vents , they come in two parts and replace the heater box . The part that fixes to the bulkhead was fitted as soon as bulkhead was painted , the part that attaches to the bonnet , the bigger part , the part i had signed by Norman Dewis , ??????? Nope cant find it anywhere ??? Ive looked in both the east and west-wing and all over the workshop , I can just not think where I put it "safe" so who else has done this it can't be only me

The house doesn't lose anything. You'll find it finally!

Exhaust heat shield that fits below the gearbox and the circular plate on the top of the air cleaner assembly that the rubber diaphragm sits in.

Special spindle bolt on my stainless throttle linkages.
Apparently my wife definitely didn’t throw it away and even if she did, it shouldn’t have been on the kitchen table in the first place!

The easiest way to find them is to order, or fabricate new ones. 10 minutes after the repacements are fitted your originals will magically appear.

I am happy to see that others have also gremlins in their workshop, who act weird while you are away.

Having hunted high and low for several days trying to find my alternator bracket, I eventually had my Homer Simpson doh moment. It's with the powdercoater!! Also, having spent several hours assiduously fettling and polishing some lovely pieces of chrome that came with my car, I discovered that they are nothing to do with the E!!
