Blue red is used in modern engines and they say it doesn't mix ?

Engines made before 1998 usually need antifreeze that isn't OAT-based (Organic Acid Technology) and contains silicate. Colours vary (red, green, blue, orange, yellow) so just make sure the bottle says "contains silicates" and does not say "OAT". Halfords sell it.

I always use the Blue 2 year Bluecol mixed with distilled water. Although finding Bluecol is getting more difficult.
