Buying MWS wheels

Carsten if you call up TUV Sued, Mr. Gerst, they‘ll send off a Datenblatt in the mail. IIRC about 120€. They will need your car number. They have all kinds of Automobilia they access to compile the details. I understand the data in their document is binding for all TUV‘s. I had a problem with that information in that they stated my maximum speed as such as the tyres needed to be rated at 211km/h - V-rated - and as such immensly more expensive than the 210 km/h H-rated. I could not talk them out of it So there, expensive tires just for TUV. Good ol‘ Germany.

I think the problem is not so much which tyres should be fitted, but rather that any replacement rims need a TUV approval.

Talk to MWS. I did have a brief chat with them and mentioned this many moons ago. They were certainly aware of the TUV requirement, and may be able to supply the necessary certification documents.

I bought MWS wheels because I had been reliably informed that Dayton wheels were not acceptable to TUV. That might not matter for UK use but I considered that it would be better to have wheels that were considered acceptable to TUV.

Things might have changed since then but that was what influenced my purchase.

In Switzerland at least, they are not too bothered about the tyre dimensions - as long as the speedo reads correctly and doesn't rub anywhere on the body. The tyre rating, top speed, weight etc. is important and must conform to the vehicle manufacturers minimum specifications.

They have been selling Dunlop, WMS and Dayton wires since ages and know exactly what "goes" with the german TÜV and what will be difficult/impossible.
And, yes, they know what goes on E-Types as well.
I got my wheels from Morgan Park many years and miles before and I'm still happy with them.
