Anyone started to use their e-types yet?

First 1000 miles done this season. Breakfast on Sunday at Wilton House. There will be a lot of classics on show.

Overnighting in Lille on way back home. 1500 miles around Germany. Only problem? Thought I had fitted original spinners years ago and it turns out I hadn’t. RHS front keeps needing to be tightened after some enthusiastic hair pins

Nice one Angus.
On that exact topic, I had a front wheel that kept loosening a bit every 500-1000 miles or so. It was on repro spinners new wheels, new tyres (good ones) and new wheel bearings,
You could tell because it felt like a balance weight had come off. A little wheel wobble after a few hundred miles or so.
I tried some original spinners to no avail. Same thing happened.
Close inspection of the splined hub revealed that although the splines themselves were good, the chamfered wheel mounting face was not quite flat anymore.
The solution was new splined hubs (with wheel bearings of course).
The problem has now gone.

We're leaving June 8th with a few other Jag owners for a backroads trip to Asheville, NC, with a good portion of the driving in the Appalachian mountans and interesting stops along the way to keep SWMBO's happy. Just finished Spring maintenance including new tires, oil & filter, lube, brakes and clutch bleed. This weekend's chore is to get the blasted wipers working, or rather to stop working when they're switched off. Total mileage for the trip should be about 1300 miles. It's starting to look like our year-long rainy weather pattern may be ending (he says, hopefully).

I'm already on 3000 miles for this year with Ireland and Wales under the belt. Pyrenees in September for about 1300 miles, and quite a few trips before then - better check my "classic insurance" mileage rates! Think I'm insured for 5000 a year.
