#1 SNG Barratt Hillclimb

Post by JulianBarratt » Wed May 29, 2019 11:16 am

Amazingly, we have a handful of spaces left for the SNG Barratt Hillclimb on the 8th June at Shelsley Walsh this year so if any forum folk are interested in coming along, please get in touch ASAP.
It one of my favourite days of the year, as those who have been before will know - basically, what you get is:

1. Chance for you to drive our E-type (50EE) up the world famous hillclimb track - twice
2. Opportunity to take your own car up the hillclimb for a timed run
3. Passenger ride in an F-Type for a bit more of a high speed run
4. Lunch.

All of this for the price of £0. Yup, its all for free (including the lunch) and is our gift back to customers each year and there will be a chance to chat with our technicians and other like minded enthusiasts in a fantastic setting at Shelsey which is exclusively rented to us for the whole day. You dont need to spend the whole day there, just come along for a couple of hours, have a drive and then head out into the glorious Shropshire/Worcestershire countryside...

If you want to come along, please drop us an email at events@sngbarratt.com (including a contact telephone number) and we will give you all the details you need and hopefully see you there in a week or so...

A great offer Julian. I fear this year I shall be recovering from a party the day before, but next year if the day is on again, I would love to get there. Spent many a happy day at Shelsey and Prescott as a youngster. Thanks very much and good luck with the day.

We just wanted to drop a quick line to say what a fabulous day out we have had today (despite the weather in the morning). You guys did an amazing job of hosting a well organised and fun event. We were so grateful to have the opportunity to experience Julian’s fantastic driving in the F Type and drive not only our own E Type but also your beautiful ‘3EE’ up the incredible Shelsley Walsh hill climb. Thank you so much for your generous hospitality and giving us a day we will never forget. Best wishes to you all.

Just to add my heartfelt thanks for an excellent day, To Julian, Sarah and all the guys from SNGB helping today.

Despite the miserable wet start to the day there was a fantastic ride up the hill in the F-type, propelled by Julian, boy it had some go and grip.

Then 2 runs up the hill in my E, I managed to shave ~3sec off my first run time which was likely nothing to shout home about :?: The a good lunch followed by 2 nice dry runs up in 50EE. Interesting contrast to my E. Slightly cammy (only slightly) but the brakes are super, much like a modern car.

Thanks again to all.

Thanks all for coming along despite the weather - which lead to some exciting moments in the morning, even in the 4 wheel drive F-type and it was with some relief that i saw 50EE reach the summit of each run to be honest!
Steve - yes your wife was a memorably crazy passenger with me but she came back for a second run so its cant be that bad...
I hope anyone who made it over to Prescott today had some sunny spells...
