#1 RIP Andrew Waugh

Post by Heuer » Tue Aug 27, 2019 9:47 am

Sad to report that Andrew Waugh passed away suddenly last Wednesday. He went by the username JagWaugh on the Forum and was a great contributor. Andrew was also a Moderator on J-L.

He will be greatly missed.

Wow. Unexpected. Lovely guy and honorary Scouser, he came to Stoneleigh and visited here in Maryland. Very clever and well-read - no surprise for a philosophy graduate. He carried J-L during and after the software swap. Very sad but ironic that as a watch and clock maker he was sensitive to the passing of time. Ergo, we should all make our preparations...

Very sad to hear. It'd be nice if there was a way that the family could be aware of these condolences as I'm sure they would appreciate the respect so many people had for him. RIP Andrew

Yes Chris. His uncle is still on Merseyside and he kept in touch with family, but he was brought up in Canada and studied there before settling in Switzerland doing IT work I believe, Then after the usual decades of career stuff and raising family he did what Angus, Andrew, myself and others have done and transitioned into paying our bills by tinkering with E-Types and others.

Very sad indeed, my condolences to his family also. You are correct - he lived in a lovely little village called Eglisau, on the way towards the Rheinfalls in Schaffhausen if you head from the Zurich direction. We had a few conversations about meeting up over the course of my year in Basel but never managed it. I always enjoyed reading about his adventures and stories from Switzerland.

Awful news. I join you all in sending my condolences to the family. As has been mentioned, I trust someone has found a way to get our messages communicated to the family?

They’ve started a wreath appeal on JL. In the absence of an equivalent effort here for one of our own, the family could read or our support via them if people PayPal a donation. I believe you don’t have to be with PayPal to use them, although I am and gavie to the JL one..
