#1 London based mobile mechanic

Post by Mindcorp » Wed Oct 09, 2019 11:55 am

Hi.
New to the forum and to the cars in general.

I have a series 2 convertible and a Series 1.5 FHC.

They've just arrived and I wanted to get to understand them a little better.

I was wanting to enlist the help of a mobile mechanic to talk me around them and answer some of my questions, which are coming up by the minute as I spend time in the cars.

Is there anyone on South West London that does this sort of thing.

Thank you

Andrew (Roehampton)

Hi Andrew...cant help with a mobile mechanic but if you want to get more familiar with E types then you have found the best place right here on the forum...a huge wealth of knowledge from the members and the archive of information to search through....my advice would be to start with the Jaguar Service manual....then just start asking questions here.....you could also look at the local JDC or JEC Jag clubs to meet like minded enthusiasts...all the best...Steve

Thanks Steve. I might get time to do that sometime next year, but at the moment, I just want to pay a guy to walk around and talk through everything plus typical foibles. I will not be able to go to any meets and am unlikely to be able to list most of the questions I have, because some are very specific to the actual vehicle. But thanks for the friendly response.

So I suppose instead of a mechanic, I am looking for someone with sound knowledge of the cars to talk me around it.

I bought my first E-Type only 3/4 months ago not knowing a thing about them. Within 3 months on here and the JEC forum i have learnt so much and acted on the advise accordingly.
Fortunately my local village garage team are well conversant with classics.
Enjoy and ask.

Take the car to Moss Jaguar in Letchworth and Angus will be able to talk you around the car and you can view other examples for comparison. https://mossjaguar.com/index.html
