#1 Cost of complete replacement of interior upholstery?

Post by go.ran » Tue Mar 24, 2020 1:04 pm

Hi All,

From your experience, anyone has an idea how much would it cost to change the complete interior upholstery (leather seats, carpets, doors, boot...) from i.e. black colour to red or beige colour? Anyone done it?

Cheers,
G.

Hi
For a complete kit for my 3.8 fhc, it was around £3k.
I did most of it myself, except the headlining. I think it would be around 2k to have it fitted professionally.

Note your last photo shows s 2+2...so there will be rear seats, more trim, more carpet so more cost....if you search in the link i posted above you will see costs for all models......note if you are going to do the job yourself there are plenty of ways to make savings.....reuse all the trim panels and just recover etc...note that many here have fully retrimed their own car....Steve

Did most of mine myself except the seats and console.
Used Aldridge for these items. About £2k. I delivered the old ones and collected the refurbished items. Not cheap but also unconvinced that I could do a great job and these bits were so visible.

Seats were a complete rebuild, new leather, foams etc.

I was lucky and picked up a complete new unused carpet set in the correct colour (made by Aldridge) for £25 on eBay! Absolute bargain !

Sorry, slight hi-jack...

First of all - Gor.an, if the black leather interior covers, door cards etc, you take out is/are serviceable, I would like to buy them for my back-up stock please.

Also, looking at the picture above of the load area, the backrest is folded flat.

Mine can't do that, it just sort of angles-over to make a bit more space.

Or can it?

All help very gratefully received.

(Including moving this post to the correct place!)

Best wishes to all.

Stay safe
