Hi Chaps

I have massive apology to make to you all
I dug out my heritage cert and the engine number is in fact R 4096-9 ..so I misread it!!!

I’m really sorry to have wasted your precious time

Actually it’s very reassuring that the crank stamping matches the block so that’s good news all round.

Many thanks and I hope maybe some of you have learnt a little about crank shaft stamped numbers!

Regards
Robbie

Thanks Steve
I think it’s very important...there’s a lot of “wool pulling” goes on in the classic car world.
I really appreciate the honest advice one gets on this forum..a real credit to the organisers!
I’m a hospital Consultant too so being open and candid is ALWAYS the best way(especially when ones got something wrong!)
