#1 rebuild and sourcing parts S1 4.2

Post by phoenix » Fri Feb 26, 2021 3:52 pm

I have finally obtained all the bits for the rebuild just the holy grail of a wiper motor to get. The wheels are back from refurb and tyres go on Tuesday . It has been about 25 years since they have been on the car . The car is on a mezzanine level 18ft high up and I have just found out from the owner that it is being lifted by the wheels when finished so that means I can fit the exhaust. Still got a long way to go all the brightwork wiring interior and plumbing to do. I have been very glad of this project otherwise I may have bought myself another project ( and maybe got a divorce). She says I must get rid of one before I buy another, I just can't stand having nothing to do .( I am retired) PS. if anyone knows of an S1 wiper motor .

Yes they are all exchange. The only way to get one as far as I can see is the refurbishment plus surcharge cost of £125.

Yes thats the reality. The DL3 is sometimes available in single speed configuration (for some utilitarian vehicle I think - like a road sweeper) It can be converted to dual speed pretty easily. - still difficult to find but not impossible . Ebay and Jag spares day are worth the time (probably plenty of time ..)

you will find one with luck.
