#1 Area meetings

Post by Ottootto01 » Wed Jan 19, 2022 7:44 pm

Hello everyone

My name is David.i have recently aquired an e type Jaguar.I come from Austin Healey ownership but found the car a little agricultural.
Can anyone tell me if there are regional club meetings please ? I am particularly keen to learn of any in South Devon.
Thank you

David

David, are you asking about ‘E Type Club’ meetings? The club has their own forum, I believe and that would be a better place to ask as this forum is not directly associated with that club, although quite a few users are members of it. Why not get in touch with them?
Otherwise, this is a forum with no meetings or anything like that. There are the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club and the Jaguar Drivers Club, both of which will have meetings in the areas that could work for you.

This is about the best place for all things E Type, help, advice, information, etc. especially if you’re working on your car and need to as a question.

Good luck

Now here was I, thinking (?), that as a member of this forum, I was also a member of the E-type club - or vice versa :questionmarks:

JDC used to be out at Eggesford mid Devon - JEC I don't know. Been a member of them all over the years. Where are you in South Devon ? I'm in Teignmouth.

The E-Type Club is loosly affiliated with the E-Type UK Forum but we do not share login credentials. The
is Forum is free to all registered users, the Club has an annual subscription and monthly magazine. This is the nominated Forum for Club members but they still need to register here to gain full access. If you want to be a Club member you need to pay their annual subscription.

We do have Forum meets, Bicester Heritage being one venue. We also meet up once a year at Moss Jaguar who kindly provide fod and drinks along with an excellent workshop tour. For local meets you need to join the JDC, JEC or E-Type Club who each organise various events through the summer.

It has worked like this since 2008 when the Forum was set up and the relationship works well.

Interesting that on the E type Club website they make it sound like they are more involved in the forum..they quote "The Forum is kindly hosted by E-Type UK (in conjunction with the Jaguar E-type Club)".........Steve

Thank you David, that gets my brain cells into line, remembering that I do pay subs to the E-type Club and just needed to register my moniker on here, :salute:

Their Forum links also points at this one.
When I mentioned "the" forum to P. Porter earlier this year he knew nothing about any E-Type forum.

I hate all the car club politics nonsense.

X does not get on with y so don’t go to that event. I don’t talk to z so we never invite… and so on…

I am in JEC, JDC, E Type Club. Use them all for different reasons and events.

Had some wonderful occasions and memories over the years with my car and have been lucky enough to make great friendships in each club and yes, there are chumps too.

Just like life. Each to their own…

Ash, it reminds me of Groucho Marx comment:
“I wouldn’t want to belong to any club that would have me as a member.”
