#1 Wheel arch liners/protectors

Post by Wallace56 » Tue Mar 29, 2022 3:26 pm

Given the complexity of the E-Type wheel arch and all those lovely nooks and crannies where tin worm can find a home, I thought I might search for aftermarket wheel arch protectors. OK, so not for the purists, but I want to use my E and not worry about stone chips and crud accumulating in the arches! Has anybody come across these? I can't find anything online...

Thanks for the link Danny. I'll have a look at that. I take it you are pleased with the results.

Hi Andrew, I haven't used this myself as my car only shows its face in fair weather.....This is just an idea I had arising from you enquiring but seems a reasonable non obtrusive solution to me.

At £130 per square metre it's a very expensive idea !!

And pointless! I have driven my OTS over 50,000 and never seen the need for anything like this. There are many others here who use their cars regularly and none have bothered to add protection. :scratchheadyellow:

I thought the OP was looking for wheel arch liners rather than PPF? :scratchheadyellow:

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I will investigate the film option. I will be using my E and it will get mucky, so I do want decent protection!

Hi, I have an all aluminium e type and used sheet neoprene, cut to shape and glued to the wheel arches in an attempt to protect the delicate ally from damage caused by flying stones. The neoprene is closed cell, doesn’t retain water and hoses off clean after an outing.
