#1 e type Series 3 1972 OEM Steering Rack Value

Post by Nick V12 e type » Tue May 31, 2022 11:58 am

Hi,
I have a 1972 series 3 e type LHD power steering rack which I would like to sell as it is now surplus to requirements. This is an original OEM rack date stamped 12/01/1972.

The rack has just gone through a full refurbishment and check over by steering rack specialist Kiley Clinton in Birmingham ( www.steering-racks.co.uk ).

Prior to listing for sale, I would be grateful for guidance on the value of this steering rack.

Many thanks

Nick

Do Barratts sell LHD ones? If that is more than you paid for the overhaul then why not pitch it between the two figures and hope someone on the continent will be interested.

Hi
SNG only seems to offer a refurbishment service for £468.00 but this is on an exchange basis.
The Jag Shop has a listing for used LHD Racks for £850.00 but from the photos, these would need to be reconditioned and are out of stock.
David Manners & Martin Robey only offer a reconditioning service with a large surcharge until the customer's unit is returned.

Any other thoughts are very welcome.

Thanks

Nick

Hi Nick....my thoughts are that your the best person to value your rack....youve obviously shopped around and know whats available..and more important how much you would be happy to sell it for...in a limited market where most would have theirs refurbed. It your call.....Steve
