#1 Calling Any Italian Owners

Post by Simon P » Fri Feb 10, 2023 12:45 pm

Salve!

Long story, but I'm after a 1993 Italian road atlas (atlante stradale d'Italia) as a finishing touch for my integrale and I've found one on Italian eBay but they won't ship to the UK. Nothing to do with Brexit - I've tried to get my mate in Spain to order it and they won't send it to him either. Maybe the sale of a 1993 road atlas to a foreigner is considered a potential threat to national security..... :scratchheadyellow:

Are there any Italian owners on here who'd be willing to order it if I give them the details, and then forward it on to me in the UK when it arrives? All costs covered of course.

Molto grazie

I wonder why they wouldn't even ship to Spain. Hope you're able to get your hands on it - sounds like a nice addition.

Use an Italian based mail forwarding business that provides you with an Italian address/mailbox. Do an internet search for Italian mailbox or Italian mail forwarding, there are several. Once you get the mail forwarding address, enter it as an alternative address in your Ebay profile. Then make the new Italian address your primary shipping address in Ebay and bid away. Don't forget to switch your address back.

In extremis, if you are prepared to wait until early March to do the deal, I and/or my wife will be at our place in Italy for a couple of weeks then and could receive a package but I would not want to rely on the post being delivered effectively in our absence. (I have had book packages flung over the cancello to sit in the rain for a week.) I could then bring the package back mid-March.

Thanks - that's very kind. There's no great rush about this, so I may well take you up on the offer :salute:
