#1 Door handles

Post by malcolm » Thu Dec 14, 2023 12:20 pm

The lock on one of my door handles gave up the ghost, so I had new ones from SNG fitted.

Two new keys of course.

Out of interest I tried the key from the old lock. It worked. I then tried another key that had only passing resemblance to the "correct" key. It worked.

So anyone with a key that vaguely looks like the one supplied can get in!

As the owner of a Webasto-roofed car I've never bothered too much about the security or otherwise of the door locks. Any car that a child can break into with a pair of scissors........

You are quite right, but I would expect a brand new door lock to open only with it's own key, rather than the first 2 others I tried at random!
