Hi,
I've got a restoration project S3 for now a few month.
I do not have any paper as the guy who sold me the S3 did not care of them. I just wanted to dismantle the car and sell the parts.
The only thing I know is that the car comes from Florida.
On the windscreen, there is an "INSPECTION CERTIFICATE from 1981 used at that time. The registration number is 6100043.
With such information how can I found the "trace" of the car in US ?
Any feedback will be appreciate.
Michel

Hello Michel
first of all, welcome to the E-Type ownership, and best wishes for your restoration. You certainly can get great support and advices with the knowledge and skills of many members of this forum.
Regarding your car history, if you ares ure the car comes from Florida
you may want to contact the Ministery of Transport of this state (search online you should be able to find their website. Look for car history /search or something similar and you'll find contact details /forms to submit a request. You will need your VIN (vehicule Identification Number) . Be patient and perseverant. (I searched mine in Ontario and finally found the history after several attempts)
Another source of info is to ask a Jaguar heritage certificate (you will need to provide the N? you have of your car ) and ther e you may get the info on the first destination of your car when it left the factory.

by the way : great choice with a S3 what year is it ?
again look for your VIN N? and see cars from the period on www.xkedata.com
all the best

Here is the link for Florida's Department of Motor Vehicles. They should have the history that you are looking for. http://www.flhsmv.gov/
Good luck.

Mark, Phil
many thanks for you answers.
I've tried the link from you Mark. I send my request to the Florida administration. Because they have only 10 years of record, they cannot give any information for a car used until 1981.
I will then try to get a better feedback with the Jaguar Heritage site.
I suppose that they will give me the information from the fist part of the car life.
Regards
