#1 looking for a specialist

Post by 356boy » Fri Nov 28, 2014 6:33 am

Hi, could anyone please point me in the direction of a good specialist mechanics/restorer in the leicester or midlands area, i've just brought a 71 series 2 and it needs a general full going over including new window rubbers front and back.
Also where is the best place to buy parts, would like a spare set of points/plugs/HT leads etc..

thanks

I haven't used him on my Jag but Swift windscreens of Leicester did a great job on my Stag, a notoriously difficult job, he is used by the local Stag specialist too. As for service items, you can get these from SNGB Barratt, if you're a club member make sure you tell them this to get discounted prices.
Where are you based, presumably not far from me?

There's Paul Brown Classic Jaguar up in Ripley if that helps, he restores e-types all the time (recently finished a very nice black V12 2+2) and last time I went there he had 850210 in there for some work. Website is www.pbcj.co.uk

I'll add a shout out for Butlin Classics at Swadlincote, just outside Burton, who did the restoration of my car (also an S2):

Highly recommended and very friendly.
