I dont know how many people attended last weekend, but it was a superb event, especially for E type owners up north, plenty there and about 20 racing in the Jaguar Classic Challenge series, here was the timetable http://www.oultonparkgoldcup.co.uk/medi ... etable.pdf
Some highlights
Steve with 77 RW, its there every year as owner lives nearby.
Superb circuit for viewing from here
One of the leading E types (2nd)
Even my S3 got a day out
Steve is very keen to start racing now, he has started helping a team to get some experience
1999 Touring car and 1974 Capri
We are deciding what car to race, he's a quick driver but a complete racing beginner
Question. Where was the E Type first raced in 1961 and who won?

Answer : it was at Oulton park and I think Salvadori won in ECD400 with Graham Hill 2nd , or was it the other way round ?

Not quite Ian,
You have the cars the wrong way round!
Salvadori was in BUY1 (4WPD), third due to apparently only changing the front pads and not discs as well as on ECD400, so brakes ran out towards end of race.

I thought so too, but what I put above was cut and pasted from a published race result I found.
However, I am sure you are right.
