#1 New SNGB Parts Catalogue

Post by Heuer » Sun Oct 11, 2015 3:23 pm

Just got back from Stoneleigh and Julian Barratt gave me a copy of their hot off the presses, latest (and greatest) parts catalogue for the 6 cylinder cars. It runs to 550 pages, drawings have been re-done, detail has been added, S2 parts are drawn and they have added early 3.8 content which has not been seen before. Absolutely fantastic and knocks the previous champion, the SC Parts catalogue, into the weeds. Incredible piece of work and it is free, although given the weight you will probably have to pay for the postage. You even get a lube chart wall poster. Order one - mention the Forum - and you will spend hours flicking through it !

I have asked for one.

Do you know if it is downloadable?
Andrew.

I've just been on them to get the catalogue.

It seems like they will send them out for free to people who have an existing account with them but in return they want to take down details of the particular car model and year that you have.

Otherwise I was told they want ?5 for them.

Can't see the catalogue on their website other than the downloadable version.
Anyone ordered it this way?

I just placed an order for some parts and asked for the new catalogue in the comments section online, no charge.

Thanks Ian, I took your advice and received a free catalogue with a few bits & bobs I ordered, a thing of beauty.

Got mine today. A veritable E Type grimoire with 550 pages and excellent diagrams. Particularly useful are good diagrams of the 1.5 which I never had when I restored mine.

One oddity is the use of inconsistent nomenclature for bolts and setscrews. For some reason they have used a mixture of original part numbers (fine), original Jaguar bolt code (fine), and then what looks like an oddly modified BMC bolt code (OK if you read BMC).

For example you can have a UFS131/5R Jag code that tells you it's UNF setscrew hex head 5/16" diameter 5/8" long, wrench driven.

Then on the same page you get BH605141J. B for bolt. H for hex. 6 no idea, maybe thread pitch or finish? 05 is diameter in 16th's of an inch, so 5/16". 14 is length in 8th's of an inch so 14/8 or 1 3/4". Last 2 who knows...

Anorak off...
Andrew.
