Ordered one as well. Plain vanilla (? 500) ex Pilkington's Rotterdam branch, which is 5 km from where I live. decided to skip the heating, which is ? 250 extra. A bit steep compared to the ?100 mentioned here before. I don't know where they get their exchange rate, not from Bloomberg's.

Bud Marston in the US has received and fitted his - went in straight away without problem. They only have one production line so expect a 4 - 6 week wait given the number of classic cars they supply.

I thought they might have made a batch, given the buzz on this excellent forum. I'll just wait and see, not in a hurry ...

Windscreen fitted today went in no problems, very good fit all round, spent more time talking cars.
I have just got to re fit the chromes which was the deal with the windscreen fitter.
This is what makes the forum great.

Trying to order this screen today but no luck.
According to Plektington supplier in Norway this screen doesnt exist. Even when giving the part number its no match in their system.
I`m going to change this screen thru my insurance so I dont have the option to order directly from uk.

Any tips? I find it strange that this partnumber is not in their system..

They called me Friday that I can pick up my wind screen today. 12 weeks delivery time ...

Hope it is the correct one.

Took delivery of my windscreen today. Looks OK at first glance, except that the Triplex logo is different than earlier in this thread:

Seems to be not the correct logo for 1967 since 1967:2 was introduced in the 80's.

The kite mark BS 857-2:1967 relates to the second amendment to the 1967 standard. This amendment was introduced in 1980.
Any opinions?

Meant to post this a few weeks ago, but as commented earlier in this thread, in addition to doing windscreens Pilkington Classics do drop glasses with rather more convincing etch markings than the horrendous 'UroGlass' standard replacement items out there.

Unfortunately I haven't kept any 'before' photos of the old markings, but as David once put it: you see them before you see the car....

So, for anyone considering the Pilkington option, this is how they came out in the end:

Image

You can just make out the original etch marking on the rear glass (or 'NDV' for those in the know  ). And here's how it looks on the other side - note that unlike the UroGlass items the Pilkington etch markings are correctly 'handed' - hurrah!

Image

It's perhaps a testament to the new markings - and perhaps the reason why it's taken me a while to bother to take pictures to post up - that since changing them over I've barely given them a second thought: before I used to wince every time I looked at them. And perhaps just a soothingly for my nerves, here's the view across from the driver's seat:

Image

So at last I can park the car with the windows up, no longer need to drive everywhere with the windows down, and nor do I need to strategically position myself in front of the door if anyone wants to take a photo of the car.....
