#1 Prototype????

Post by dal2.0litrefrogeye » Tue Jul 17, 2018 1:26 pm

I've only heard about this once before , and the guy I heard it from can tell a tale or two , so I poo pooed it a bit but in the photo of the lightweight E the inlet is on the exhaust side and I assume the exhaust is the other ?????? Anyone else heard or know about this ???? I may owe "my mate" an apology :banghead:

Me suspect the image was printed from a negative and the negative was put in the machine that took the print off the wrong way up...easily done. Result would be a reversed image where left is right and right is left I think..although does not explain battery location but maybe light weight cars do have the battery on the inlet side?

Yes, a reversed image. LWE's had the battery under the carbs as the exhaust side had the dry sump oil tank next to it.

I think it was built on Opposite Day.

That's just like the Northern Ireland green energy incentive!

Two questions.

First, aren't those D Type wheels?

Second, what are those headlight bowls? They don't seem to be the same as the Series 1 items.

Stuart

Yes, Dunlop spun alloy centres riveted to rolled alloy rims. The LWE peg-drive setup is very slightly different to the D, with the spinners not being truly interchangeable due to a different rear face.
