can a any one tell me how to bench test a series 1 wiper motor /

The only way I have succeeded is to put it into another car. So just unplug the 5 way connector and plug your motor in.

and both the workshop manual and Haynes manual have very clear instructions for testing the motor on both speeds....so long as you can identify the wire colours....

There was a bloke on eBay in the US selling sets of correctly coloured cotton covered wires of the correct length with bullets fitted...seem to recall they were about £25 plus p and p so not cheap...
