Folks, in my basket of parts was an old distributer that does not fit (bottom not correct), but also was a newer unit (not the points type) it fits right in, but cap appears to be held on with screws, might be from an 1986 xj6
with fuel injection, can I use this newer type, sure would be nice to have no points to play with and I can bet the 2 screws that old cap at more secure. Thanks Mike. (yes my knowledge of jags is very limited, but learning lots from the forum)
xke 67 fhc distributer question

My knowledge is also limited! However, putting an unknown dizzie set up in sounds dodgy. What sort of advance curves is it set to give you? Can they be adjusted easily? Maybe if you want no issues with points, go for a 123 distributor which lots of us have done. Or use your existing dizzie but put in an electronic points set up which again will never need adjusting, and is cheap. It's also very easily done. Even I managed it!
