#21 Re: Front suspension plating
Well, I decided to knock the axle pins out to save all the messing around with tape & stuff. In order to block off the internal tapers for the track-rod ends and upper ball joint, I used the old upper ball joint pins & bashed them into the top holes, then I cut the tapered pins off the old track-rod ends & bashed them into the steering arms. As I was tapping one of the steering pins in, I noticed that the steering arm was rotating on its mounting bolt (the axle bolt). Not very tight, methinks. So I decided to push them out. That one took almost ten tons before it would let go; the other went at five tons. Off to the platers next.
