#1 Big or small

With a 2 hole camshaft,the inlet side gaps are 2 at .oo4 and the other 4 @ .006.

Bearing in mind that they should all be .004 do I leave as is, or is it better to shim all to .004.

Wisdom says that they close up in service, is this correct.

Set them correctly at 4 thou.
I can tell you from experience that an inlet set to 7 thou will be noisy.
