For future reference, the ideal crank shaft position for removal of the sump in situ is with the woodruffe key for the harmonic balancer cone at the 9:30 position as viewed from the front of the engine. Note that this is the key on the crank that holds the cone in place, NOT the one on the cone itself.
This puts the #1 crank webs as high up as possible giving the maximum amount of space to remove the sump.
Don't forget to remove the oil dipstick as well.

No it puts the #1 journal at about 9 and the counterweight at 3.
