#1 carburetter screw sizes

Post by ManniB » Wed Dec 27, 2017 5:04 pm

Dear all,

can someone explain to what kind of screws are used on the Zenith Stromberg CD175 on my '72 e type? I'm asking about (as an example) the screws holding the dashpod and the float bowl. Are those US screws (e.g. #0, #1, etc) of Britisch screws (e.g. BA0, BA1, ...). Please forgive this probably dumb question, but I'm from the metric part of the world

Best regards, Manfred

I believe they are metric. But it's been awhile since I've had the CD175's on a car. I tried a few Google searches and can't confirm my assertion.

I can't understand why they would be metric.

I used 10-32s on mine and they fitted fine.

Thank you all for your replies!

I've spent the better part of today tearing down the first of the four carburetors and identifying the screws myself. Actually, they are all unified thread with a mix of UNC and UNF.
