#1 Series 2 rear çalipers on a series 1

Post by tim wood » Tue Feb 20, 2018 8:23 pm

Some time ago I noticed a posting on here about fitting series 2 rear calipers to a series 1.
I think this required some grinding mods to the caliper bodies. I now can’t find that post despite a good search. So if the original poster ( or indeed anyone) has this detail I would be interested.

Thanks
Tim

I have Series 2 rear calipers on my Series 1 and, if I remember correctly, I needed to cut away some of the sheet metal on the cradle to give them some clearance. I then reformed the lips on the apertures to put some strength back into the cradle.

I'm sure that I didn't have to modify the calipers in any way.

Regards
Stuart

Thanks for that, do you still need the horseshoe shaped brackets that secure the calipers to the diff ?or do the calipers bolt directly to the output shaft cases?
