Bonnet hinges
#1 Bonnet hinges
Chaps my bonnet has been fitted with odd hinge brackets, only one has a part number stamped in the casting C16803, can’t find anything on the nett that relates to this number so I’m unsure which bracket is correct. I have also purchased a set of nylon bushes are these normally really tight fitting in the hinge bracket?

#2 Re: Bonnet hinges
Hi Julian
The part with the number which has the chamfered inner surface is an older (original) type...the one with a radius is a later, possibly repro item....at least that’s what I believe having done some digging around for my 63 car
I had the same situation and tracked down another original...(my OCD... )
I asked here on the forum and was kindly answered
Best

#3 Re: Bonnet hinges
Hi Julian
Thomas Haddocks book shows 3 hinge types!
Your slimmer , rounded one is an early hinge ...mostly up to Feb 1962. However some are found on later cars
It seems the majority changed to the beefier more squared off version in early 1962
