Hi guys,
Would someone please advise me where I can find the Body Number, (NOT Chassis Number), for my Series 1 4.2 OTS?
Many thanks,
George

The body number is on a small plate riveted to the outside the rear number plate panel. These are often missing on cars that have had major panel replacements back there, as was the case with my '66 4.2 FHC.

Hi George
The stamped plate is often missing
I found mine written by hand, upside down on the reverse of the dashboard just above the speedo with the colour of the car (ODG) and the interior trim colour (TAN) next to it. It was also to be found on the glove compartment side too.
The dash is quite a good place to check it seems as mine has clearly never been removed...original green paint is on the bulkhead behind.
The hand written numbers are often the best way to find a genuine ID.
Good luck
Robbie

If I recall correctly, it is also written, along with the trim colour, in crayon on the inside of the tailgate on the FHCs. Not sure if the OTS had it jotted down any place "back there."
