#1 hood seal on OTS

Post by neal herridge » Tue Jun 12, 2018 6:48 pm

Could any one help with the following
I am getting my 1966 OTS ready for the trimmers &I am having a problem with the hood seal which goes between the wooden hood spar & the windscreen chrome top rail.
I have a good fit with the wood spar after a lot of fitting ( new ) & the metal pan they both fit the windscreen very well.
The problem comes when I add the seal as I can't get it to compress , its a hollow one from SNG Barrett.
The depth of the rebate where the seal fits is app 19mm & the seal fills this completely the height of the chrome header rail is 10mm which means the seal must compress by 10mm
Does any one know of a better seal to use .
Many thanks Neal.

Neal, does this help you at all: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10352

COH Baines are well respected for seals, though whether SNGB get theirs from Baines I don't know
