#1 Clutch...no more

Post by ralphr1780 » Mon Jun 25, 2018 9:19 am

Saturday morning, knowing that the afternoon will be dedicated to watching the World Cup :bouncyyellow: took the S2 out of the garage aiming for a relaxed tour in the countryside. I noted that the clutch pedal had little more free play than in my memory. Nevertheless pulled away smoothly. Some 50km later, at a traffic intersection, the clutch pedal suddenly became all soft down to the floor and no more gear change was possible: the slave cylinder had given up draining out all the hydraulic fluid.
The drive back home was stressing, starting in first with the starter then shifting directly to 4th...
The hydraulics, brake and clutch, were fitted all new in 1995, and I changed fluids every 3 years.
Guess it is time now for a complete overhaul, including flexible low and high pressure hoses.
Anyway, was back in time for the game and thirsty enough :drinkingcheers:

Hi Pete,
As both are going to the 8th finals, there is less thrill here, I just hope it will not be boring like the Denmark-France one :banghead: .
Anyway, pleased to see that despite moving to the other side of the pond you are still following football.

"Belgium v England today Ralph, I can’t lose..." Or a pessimist would say, "I can't win." Maybe the best outcome for you, Pete, would be one of those thrilling 1-1 ties.
