They were built by a welder that builds off-road class 1 trucks for racing the Baja 1000 / 500 and other gnarly races. They won't break. They won't rust from the inside out like the stock ones. They won't flex as much as the stock units. As far as liking them .... I have not finished the build yet. This is an Ex-race car that competed at most of the California tracks in the 60's and 70's. I purchased it in 2011. It was in about 30 boxes. If it turns quicker under racing conditions, that's fine with me.Series1 Stu wrote: ↑Sat Aug 11, 2018 9:37 pmAfter you happy with them?
What grade of steel did you use? The welding doesn't look particularly good to me. I don't think I would trust my life, or the life of others, to them.
I'm sorry to be so negative but they don't look great to me.

Ok. As long as you're happy, but if anybody supplied a fabricated assembly to me with welds looking like that I'd reject it straight back to them.
I hope they pass scrutineering and you get 200 years of service from them, as you suggested.

Well he builds these (see pic) and somehow they finish the most extreme races on the entire planet. Call me crazy, but I think my E-type will make it through a 50 mph turn at Willow Springs. If I’m killed doing that I’ll let you know
