#1 Alternator with fried connector

Post by elliottS » Tue Sep 04, 2018 10:50 pm

Searching why my ignition light will not come on with ignition sw. Found the connection on the alternator which is the main power with a hefty wire is connected. It had become very hot the rubber cover was melted the the brown insulator piece was burn't in half. This one is in the plastic holding the brushes. I don't know where to go to get parts. I installed a rebuilt alternator and might have put in on such it shorted and burn't.

The alternator is also pretty close to the exhaust headers. Do you have a heatshield installed?
