#1 Seat Belts

Hi
My my 1965 FHC is coming together after many years ,what is the law on the lap belts as fitted,
I know it dosent need an MOT, But I will be getting one for peice of of mind and for the insurance.

If seat belts were originally fitted to the car you need to keep them fitted. Lap belts were not legal in the UK in 1965 so you need to fit lap/diagonal belts. Failing to do so could result in a fine or, more importantly, serious injury in the event of an accident. Not fitting them could invalidate your insurance which could lead to a claim against you by any injured passenger. Angus's very original 1965 FHC has the original lap/diagonal belts fitted.
